Take a porn addiction survey for Wheaton College
2009 July 25
If you would like to participate, Dr. William M. Struthers is conducting online research into pornography history and use factors. All collected data will be kept confidential, and participants will not be asked for their names or any identifying details.
Probably taking 20-30 minutes to complete, it’s quite an extensive survey. But the questions are thought provoking, and it’s good to see qualified academic research into the issue of porn addiction.

Hi,
Whilst Academic studies and research into the problems associated with using porn are important and have there place in the scheme of things. And I am happy to be involved, I suspect that what many people viewing this website need most is practical help, support and advise on trying to give up what is after all a very tough problem. The very nature of having a porn habit (porn obsession, compulsion or addication) is that it remains a lonely road, it leaves the person isolated with their problem, with the feelings of both anxiety, regrett and shame & guilt and of self dislike, etc. If such research can lead to more effective ways to help and support people who are struggling to get free from the effects of porn then I am all for this. But if such research just remains of purely academic or intellectual then I cannot see how it can help others. Research must have a practical value to those with the problem in my view otherwise it is of little value ultimately.
