I'm 13 and don't want to be hooked for years - C's story
i'm 13 and have been hooked on pornography for 3 months.
i first encountered porn by accident by a popup but by curiosity i had a look. i was scared at first and vowed never to look again but i did - again and again.
im frightened when i hear stories of people that have been addicted for years. i've tried Candeo and Net Nanny and now this site.
Hi C
It's true that discovering internet porn can make us feel uneasy or gross us out. Somehow, that becomes part of the attraction. Trawling the web for porn is an intense experience, even if it's not a nice experience, and any intense sensation can become habitual.
I agree that addiction is scary too, and there's no shortage of tragic stories. But remember the big positive here: anyone can quit porn addiction and get on with enjoying their lives. Thousands of people of all ages are taking steps to achieve this every day.
You've faced up to the problem already, and that's a brave step in itself. Breaking the habit is all about being open to options. Even when you try something and it doesn't seem to work, you can learn a lot from that.
And it's good to focus on what you want. Like the time you've spent looking at porn - how would you prefer to spend your time? This will help you to stay motivated. As the saying goes, bad habits aren't broken - they are replaced.
I wonder whether you are able to talk to someone about your worries over this? That can be a massive help. Either way, you are always welcome to share your progress on here. Good luck!

I started using porn
I started using porn (discovered porn) when I was 14 years old. OK! first of all just because you have viewed porn a few times doesn't automatically mean you are an addict, personally I don't like the word addict because I don't believe its accurate or helpful. Secondly, at 13 or 14 years old you are going through the process of puberty and you are bound to have all sorts of questions about sex, sexuality & relationships with girls & women that's 100% normal.
However, I think many young people turn to internet based porn as a source of gaining information about sexual matters, sadly porn is a rather bad source of real information about sex. Porn gives out many conflicting or just plain wrong ideas about sex, for example that 99.9% of all women want & love anal sex which is just utter rubbish (actually anal sex can be extremely painful). The reality is that perhaps a small % of women like or enjoy such sex but most women don't want or like it.
Most girls or women don't look like porn stars, or porn models with their clothes removed. They don't all have perfect breast's or genitals or perfect shaped long legs. In fact most porn models are women who's body shapes & sizes are in a rare minority of the entire population. Or porn models have silicone enhanced body parts that make them look more freak show performers than anything else. To have physical beauty as well as being beautiful on the inside is not something that can be made or bought, you either have it or unfortunately you don't, your born with it or not as the case may be. Most porn models or porn stars have fake plastic enhanced breast's & you can see if you care to look closely enough, you can almost always see the scars.
YES! I highly recommend either OpenDNS or K9 web protection for internet porn content filtering if you want to steer clear of web based porn.
