'Fuck It: The Ultimate Spiritual Way' review
Apologies now for the foul language that occasionally features in my generally non-sweary blog. It's all for a good cause though.
I've just finished reading 'Fuck It: The Ultimate Spiritual Way', and I recommend it highly.
Author John C. Parkin takes a refreshingly blunt approach to letting go of the stresses and anxieties that dominate our daily lives. He explains how we can learn to say Fuck It to the common fears and limitations that lead us into depression, worry and can effectively shorten our lives.
For those of us trying to overcome porn addiction, there is much relevance here. We have come to depend upon our porn fix to temporarily shut out our problems and fears. The habit becomes instinctive, and we lose sight of any other ways to manage our lives. Though we may despise what we do, we attach meaning to porn and all the time we spend wallowing in it.
'Fuck It' serves as a positive, plain-speaking reminder:
When we say Fuck It we turn the clock back. We unlearn meaning and smash the things that we have come to think mattered. We regress to a more natural state where things don't mean much but they're all just so bloody beautiful.
