I feel completely ashamed. I used to find porn fascinating, and although I knew it objectified women (I look at women) I continued to look at it. The real clincher though, what I call the devils drug of choice, was masturbation. Its the feeling of satisfaction both physical and emotional which is conveyed by the use of porn and masturbation which is SO hard to resist. Left to my own devices I'd view it for hours, alternating between sleep and porn sessions. It would take over a whole weekend.
Things really hit rock bottom when my girlfriend found out. When she told me, I felt like I was being punched in the stomach, it was like I had to confront this other person (the other me). I was lying to myself. Where am I now? I'm still addicted. But I only realised that I'm addicted recently. Its not mostly harmless fun, which serves a purpose, pornography is like any drug, it can be used recreationally but if you get hooked it can take over your life.

I agree... I wish I knew what
I agree... I wish I knew what to do... I try to rationalize not doing it... but I always find a reason to do it...

I understand. I have a roommate and I worry about being discovered as well. Two days ago I was downloading porn with him not 5 feet away. (Downloading for later) I realized that if I kept on I would be discovered for certain. That gave me a chill and is part of what is fueling my last final attack on this addiction.
I believe we can overcome this. We can crush it beneath our bootheels. Today I am all alone in my place, on my day off work, with a high speed internet connection. I will give in to neither porn nor masturbation. And believe me the temptation has been there. I have been on my computer all morning.
Do NOT give up. We can defeat this. We can defeat this now.
